Are all IPA’s craft beer, well IPA stands for India Pale Ale, and is a popular type of beer. Are they all craft beer? That’s the question people have when they hear about IPAs. The answer is no, not all beers with an IPA in them are considered craft beer. There are many types of IPAs that fall under the category of commercial or mass-produced beers. These types of beers are made to be distributed quickly and cheaply to many different locations nationwide.
What other type of craft beers are there?
We’ve been talking about IPAs, but there are many other types of craft beer that come from different recipes and ingredients. Some examples are:
Pale Ale – A type of pale ale will be lighter in color than a typical IPA with paler malts used to brew it.
Imperial Stout – This type is dark in colour and can be a very bitter beer
Wheat Beer – A lovingly made wheat beer will have a soft body with an earthy aroma
Pilsner – A pilsner is usually light and refreshing, but some can be hoppy like IPAs.

It’s no secret that we love writing about all things brewing! From where to find great tasting craft beer near me, to what it takes to brew your own batch at home…we’ve got you covered.
Why do we think all craft beer is IPA?
IPAs have a higher alcohol content, which is why many people believe all craft beers with the IPA name are considered to be craft beer. This belief falls apart when you look at some of the mass-produced IPAs that have lower alcohol contents than other types or brands of beers.
Why is IPA so popular in craft beer?
IPA is quick to ferment, so it’s easier to brew an IPA in smaller batches.
IPA is also a very strong flavored beer that people like because of the variety and depth of taste they are getting with each sip.
